Frosted jam bars

- ½ cup molasses
- ½ cup dark corn syrup
- 1 beaten egg
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¾ cup jam or preserves (strawberry is great)
Melt butter. Stir in corn syrup. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Spread half of batter in greased 11 by 7 by ½ inch pan. Spoon over jam. Carefully cover with remaining batter. Bake 20-25 min at 400. Frost with warm powdered sugar frosting. Cut into bars. These are delicious while still warm.
