Lime Pickles(From Josephine Hodges)

7 ½ pounds cucumbers slices.

Pickling mix:
2 cups lime mixed well with 2 gallons water (cold).

Add cucumbers and let set 24 hours.

Rinse 3 or 4 times with fresh water each time, and let set 3 hours.

Make syrup of:
4 ½ lbs. sugar or 8 ½ cups
2 quarts apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 tsp. mixed spices.

Bring syrup to a boil.

Add cucumbers and boil 30 minutes, and seal in jars.
