1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup salted peanuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup crushed cornflakes
1 cup oatmeal
Sift baking powder, soda and flour. Cream thoroughly, the sugar and shortening; add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Add cornflakes, oatmeal, and peanuts. Stir by hand. Roll into balls the size of a walnut; sprinkle with sugar and bake in 375 degree oven about 8 minutes.
A different version suggests 350 degrees for 8 minutes
