Chocolate Cake Doughnuts
Mashed potatoes make these extra good
1½ cup of sugar
2 Tbsp baking powder
¼ cup melted margarine
1 tsp salt
1 cup cold mashed potatoes
1 tsp nutmeg
2 eggs beaten
½ cup cacao
3 cups sifted flour
½ cup milk
Stir sugar, butter, and mashed potatoes into eggs. Whip until creamy. Sift flour, baking powder, (2 tbsp is right) salt, nutmeg, and cacao together. Add alternatively with milk to egg mixture. Mix well and chill for 2 hours. Roll ½ in thick on lightly floured board. Cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in hot fat 365 for 3 minutes. Drain on paper towel makes 2 dozen.
