Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 cup diced carrots

  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp seasoned salt

White Sauce:

  • ¼ cup margarine
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 4 cups milk

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add tomato juice, carrots, and potatoes to the beef mixture.
  3. Stir in seasonings (salt, pepper, seasoned salt).
  4. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender.
  5. Meanwhile, melt margarine in a saucepan.
  6. Stir in flour (for the white sauce). Cook and stir until smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk.
  8. Return to heat, cooking and stirring until thickened.
  9. Stir the white sauce into the vegetable mixture.
